Trampolines

Initially I thought about having an external track, but I didn't like the way that this would have looked and felt it may have been a weak link in the boat. So I made the decision to go for an internal tube even though this would take longer to build. So long as the tube was going to be water tight structurally this made a lot of sense, as the trampoline loads are pulled into the gunnel. With the tube and rod arrangement holding the inboard edge of the trampolines we now have a very much quicker and simpler method of tightening the trampolines near the wing bar.

Having witnessed boats being blown over even while attached to their trailors, from a safety point of view it was necessary to have a quicker way of rigging the trampolines. The trampolines can now stay attached on the inboard edge all the time, and can neatly be rolled up for towing.
